The Question About David’s Son

And as Jesus taught in the temple, He said, “How can the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David? David himself, inspired by the Holy Spirit, declared,

‘The Lord said to my Lord,

Sit at my right hand,

till I put thy enemies under thy feet.’

David himself calls Him Lord; so how is He David’s son?” And the great throng heard Him gladly. Mark 12:35-37

Explanations:

1. God Almighty manifests Himself in three supreme personalities:

2. As God the Almighty Father, God the Almighty Love (Jesus Christ) and God the Almighty Presence (Holy Spirit).

3. That is why Jesus is Lord, just as God Almighty is Lord. It is God Almighty that came in the midst of humanity in the person of Jesus Christ.

4. The same God in triple form; just as fire is heat, flame and light at the same time.

How is He the son of David?

Apostle Matthew: How did they hear and accept it?

The Head: The saw glorious works and explanations of Jesus.

Apostle Matthew: Was it everybody that accepted it?

The Head: It was not everybody. It was only those who have being sealed with the mark of salvation. They heard it and went home with joy. Some heard it but did not understand what was being said. All that they knew was that people gathered there, but they did not understand what was being said.

Apostle Matthew: Son of man, yourself answered very well. But number 1, the Holy Spirit first revealed this fact that Jesus is Lord, through King David. He, David was a warrior, a king and a prophet. He wrote so many books about the coming of Jesus Christ, and he shared out the books throughout the lands of Judea and Bethlehem. That was why Jesus was explaining what King David said and wrote about His coming. That was why it was possible for people to understand what Jesus was saying, because the prophecy had been given to them earlier.

Apostle Matthew: Why did King David call Jesus Lord?

The Head: It is because God had made King David understand that Jesus is the FirstSon of God and is God.

Apostle Matthew: Yourself answered very well. That was what Jesus wanted to explain to the gathering. Son of man, Jesus was from the genealogy of King David, and also son of David. But King David was calling Jesus Lord, thereby testifying that God Almighty is Jesus Christ in human form.
